Reaction to New Dashboard 98% Negative

I did the same as you james; I spent time going through every single thing before actually trying to use any anything for real. I reported bugs as I found them, reporting them in a way that those that fix it can understand what I’m describing (I hope). This isn’t a mental support group so I am surely not going to piss and groan. It only slows down getting to the point – having our open-source-project that we are all a part of, move forward. There are a lot of improvements in this software, some are the items users have been wanting. I didn’t like it at first but I’ve gotten used to it. I enjoy looking for bugs and helping get them resolved. There are 888 active support tickets at the moment and support has been working all weekend; literally 24 hours a day. We can’t see them but they are. When your page slows a bit – they are pushing code through.
Those that say this hasn’t happened before, it has – we’ve had the forum highly active before from code coming through. Look through the forum over the years. History is still there. We’ve always ‘recovered’.

their isnt a whole lot of difference so far in what you can and cannot do.
I think most people were just comfortable with the old dashboard.Once bloggers use the dashboard a couple times they will get use to it… Know where every feature is.
One great new feature:
for bloggers with slower computers, the old drag and drop widget page was really slow and hung up. .
This new design page is a vast improvement.Remember we want a place where EVERYone can blog.

Switching between each editor doesn’t hang up anymore either.
Your point is an excellent one! -
I kind of like the new design, but I hate the way it was introduced: introduce design and fix problems after. Isn’t that why there are beta products, to work out the problems? Since the new design, I have had to rewrite a post (sinde most of it was lost while it was being ‘saved’), had many problems adding links, found the posting time is longer, … These may all be worked out eventually, but why weren’t they worked out BEFORE the design switch?

Thanks for trying, but this is much to complicated.
Why fix it if it wasn’t broken.
I liked the simplicity of the layout before, this SUCKS.But Thanks for trying!

WordPress is an open source project. That means there are hundreds of people all over the world working on it at any given time. Open source software are built and maintained by a large network of volunteers.
As a blogger using the WordPress platform, you are actually helping with the product as well. (Well, most are)
Other examples of open source products are the web-server “Apache”, the internet address system “Internet Protocol”, the internet browser “Firefox”, and the “Linux” operating system.

Now that I have my initial image problem sorted out, I’m liking it. It’s taking a little bit to re-learn, but that’s exactly what I did when I began with WP some years ago.
If you can’t handle a little change, you are in for a life of disappointments.

I guess I’m the odd one out, because I love the upgrade! I’m shocked to even see anyone mention blogger! I was on blogger and it sucked. It still does. Just think, if you were on blogger, you would have no forum to express your negativity about wordpress to begin with! How ironic is that? :P

Personally I like it. That being said, I understand those of you that don’t like the dashboard as you liked it and didn’t ask for the change. The new dashboard takes a little getting used to, but it is part of the changes that “all” wordpress installations have and the old dashboard is not coming back though I have noticed staff talk about different color schemes available at some point.
It might not be what you want to hear, but I don’t think the old dashboard is coming back, so give the new one a chance :)

I can’t really comment on the old dashboard, as I just created my blog today. I found the dashboard easy to use.

I absolutely hate the new dashboard. I hate the colors, I hate the layout and I want a way to get my old one back.
It is enough to make me want to go back to Blogger.com…
almostAt least the choice to go back, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

I’m 50-50 on the new Dashboard. The color choices WordPress used in their layout leaves much to be desired. It makes it harder to find this and that.

You can choose the old colour scheme (“Classic”) on your Profile page if you find the “Fresh” colours too light.

Im having a problem on inserting the image to the post.. I inserted the image2, but instead image1 appeared. Does it have bugs of its just human error?

My blog is really about images, and the new dashboard won’t let me upload any images. I played the upload tutorial 3 times and noticed some of the choices they picture don’t come up on my screen.
I finally made one post without an image, but I’m pretty depressed about it as blogging was a major source of fun. I’ll keep trying for a while. The old screen was soooo quick and easy. Sigh. Back to blogspot.
