Reactivate my old site?

  Hello,

  I had the site Kungfumusiclessons.com but then I let it deactivate for about a year now… I don’t see any records at all of the old site here in wordpress. I just got my old domain name with a new host and would like to reactivate my site. Is this possible or do I have to start over from scratch?

  Hi there!

  To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

  1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
  2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
  3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

  I don’t see that you had hosted kungfumusiclessons.com here previously, so we’re limited in what we can help with and advise.

  If you did not have backups of this site or did not download a full directory (including your database) of your site before you let the hosting expire, I’m afraid your content would be lost.

  You should be able to look up your site on the Internet Archive to get a snapshot of your site during the timeframe when it was still online that you can use to start recreating your site.

  I would recommend hosting your site with us if you decide to start over from scratch. Any of our paid plans will allow you to use your domain for free using the domain connection option.
