Reactivating my site

  I am not quite sure about what questions to ask. I have a ‘blog’ site that I have not posted to in several years: (reninassancemusings.wordpress.com). I am considering restarting my blog. What is my status with respect to WordPress, and what will it cost me to reactivate my blog site? If I want to ‘commercialize’ my site at a later date, what would be involved in going to your level 3 (commercial) site? Thanks. Jeff Richmond at (email visible only to moderators and staff))

  I see that your site is still active, in the sense that you don’t need to do anything specific to reactivate it. You can simply start posting again if you want to keep your old posts around.

  If you’re planning to remove everything you posted before, you can follow these steps to empty your site. Note that this will permanently delete your content, so only follow them if you’re sure you don’t want to keep any of your old posts.

  Your site didn’t have any active subscriptions before. So there’s not a ‘cost’ per se to start posting again, but you can certainly upgrade to a WordPress.com plan to take your site to the next level (like adding a custom domain). What plan to choose will depend on the features you’re looking for.

  If I want to ‘commercialize’ my site at a later date, what would be involved in going to your level 3 (commercial) site? 

  I’m not sure exactly what you mean by ‘level 3 (commercial) site.’ Would you please elaborate on this? Do you want to add e-commerce features to your site, for example? Or do you have any other specific features in your mind that you’d like to see on your site?

  You can always start with the WordPress.com Personal plan and upgrade to a higher plan later if more features are needed. But if you have specific functionality in your mind, like an online store, which is possible with the WordPress.com Business plan or higher, we can suggest the best plan for you right away.
