Reactivating Widgets

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi

I do see that I have inactive widgets which I wanna reactivate again without having to add new widgets. But some are duplicates. And it will take forever to delete them manually. Or should I just start over and add all the widgets again

Will it be possible to do it on your end or do I have to do it

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi –

Thanks for taking the time to get in touch. Are the current displayed Widgets the one’s you want to have in the sidebar? Otherwise, you can see what’s hanging out in the inactive widget section and move those to the live site from https://imanissm.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php

There’s not an automated way to remove duplicate widgets from our side of things. If you haven’t needed to make changes to your widgets for some time then it’s probably fine to just remove them all and start fresh.

yes the current widgets are the ones I wanna have displayed in sidebar. I recently added them but since i have the inactive widgets too I don’t know if I should start over with readding them again or just reactivate the the inactive widgets

  • Hey there,

Whilst the widgets are in the inactive section, they wouldn’t be visible unless they’re moved into the sidebar widget area.

You wouldn’t need to remake them as their settings are in already in place – it’s possible to click and drag them into place.

    I hope this helps. :)

    ok

So I don’t need to readd them all over again right?

And how would I click and drag them on mobile phone

  • No, you don’t need to duplicate your efforts and add widgets again. The only time you’d need to do that is if you deleted them from the inactive section.

I would suggest working from a computer if possible. It will be easier and faster.

If a computer isn’t an option let us know which operating system and version number your device is using. We will also need to know your app version number. Then we can provide steps for what’s possible in the app.

    ok

Can I also try it on a tablet too if not a computer

  • Hello,

Yes, there are two ways how you can manage your site on mobile devices, using the WordPress App or by logging into your site via the browser window on your tablet, which should allow you to use the regular desktop version of the Dashboard depending on your tablet model.

Keep in mind the drag-and-drop functionality in the WordPress dashboard generally works on tablets and mobile devices. However, the user experience may vary depending on the specific device, its screen size, and the browser being used. Some touchscreen devices might not provide the best experience, and in such cases, using a desktop or laptop computer for managing WordPress would be more convenient.

    I hope that helps.
