  I know this is an old question but I cannot understand all the answers online about functions php etc. How do I get the read more to work without setting up the functions php, because I cant get my head around this.

  If that’s the blog you brefer to then there is no blogger php editing possible here at WordPress.com and none is required. Simply follow these instructions and insert “the more tag” into your posts. http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/
