I use the vantage theme and the read more facility does not work. I also don’t want the page to refresh.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
The site https://ally8265.wordpress.com/ presently has the Pique theme activated. What do you mean by the “read more facility?” Do you mean the More tag?
I also don’t want the page to refresh.
Pages on WordPress.com sites don’t auto refresh, regardless of the theme activated, unless the device visiting the pages in question has an app or add-on installed which produces the auto refresh behavior.

Thanks
I do mean the read more tag.
All the read more plug-ins I have tried don’t work with Vantage

Thanks but I have tried the WP default read more tag and get <!–more–>in the Text. Still no luck. I’m using visual editor in the Vantage theme…could this be an issue?

The theme doesn’t make a difference, but the editor does. If you’re typing or pasting that code, then it should be inserted in the text (HTML) editor, not the visual editor. Alternatively, you may use the Insert Read More tag icon in the toolbar of the visual editor, as described in the More Tag support page. The corresponding toolbar button in text mode is labeled “more.”

More tags are for use in posts only, not pages. Though you may place multiple More tags in a post, only the one placed highest in the post editor window will work.
The NextPage tag may be used to break up pages or posts into multiple parts.
