  The read more tag will take the visitor to the point where the new content (after the read more) when they click that button. That behavior cannot be changed.

  Could I ask you for a little help regarding Read more links? I have a Norwegian site, but some of the translations don’t seem to work unfortunately. Is there a way I can change the CSS on the front page to make is say for instance “les meir” rather than “read more”? Link to the site: https://nyevolda.wordpress.com/

  Although you can use plugins to create child themes, I’d recommend that you develop your child theme offline with a locally installed version of the WordPress.org software.

  A tool like this one can help you with that. By developing your child theme offline, you can ensure that it works well, and that it won’t break your live site. If you were to edit it (including the functions.php file) incorrectly on the live site, you would likely make your site inoperable.

  If you develop the theme offline, you can create a zip file of the theme and then upload it to your site once you’re sure it works well.
