Read more button not working on blog posts.

    I have had a wordpress site for a while now and I recently added a blog post to my website. I want to add more posts over time, so for the layout I set it to show just an excerpt with a ‘read more’ button for people to read the full blog (pretty standard).

    The problem is when you click the read more button it just redirects you to the homepage rather than the full blog entry.

    I’ve been trying to fix this for hours and I even created a new page altogether with the blog content thinking I could just set the read more button to link to the new page. But I can’t edit the permalink in the read more button.

    I would really appreciate any help with this.

    P.S.
    I am using a theme called Themify which I am not mad about but I am reluctant to change at this point because I am scared of messing up the whole site.

    Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We’re only able to help with sites hosted on our servers at WordPress.com.

    Please ask the WordPress.org community for advice instead. They provide support for the version of WordPress you’re using:
