Read more link and Author Appearance
-
Need help on a few items. First for the ‘Read More’ link. When I finish writing up my post I use the read more icon to indicate where I want to cut off my posting and have the “Read More’ link appear but on my front page the link does not appear.
Secondly on my front page as well, the author name appears to the left of my posting. Anyway to take that out? Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Most newer themes display excerpts by default. This Themes showcase filter lists all themes that display excerpts by default: https://wordpress.com/themes/filter/blog-excerpts
Most newer themes also have the Content Options panel in the Customizer https://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/, which allows you to choose between displaying the full post or an excerpt.
If you want to display only post excerpts on the front page or the blogs page of the blog followed by read more links, you can insert “the more tag” into each post prior to publication.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/The read more tag can be inserted once only into any post to change the front page or main page for posts display from full post to an excerpt. The split in the text does not display to you in preview mode but it will be there after the post is published.
Please Read Go Back and Edit Posts https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/#go-back-and-edit-posts and be sure to click Update to publish the after your editing.
For other ways to split content see > https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/
