Read More link and Tags

Hi,
1. When you add a new post in WordPress it gives you the option of defining tags. I want to know as to where these tags are used. Because I created a new post and can’t find those tags I entered any where on the page (title, header, body). So I want to know what’s the purpose of those tags?
2. I want to give the option of CLICK HERE FOR MORE or READ MORE in a post so that when the user clicks on it, he/she is taken to that post’s detail page. I know there is a tag named MORE in WordPress but the problem is it doesn’t show any words like “Click here” or “Read More” e.t.c on home page so that user know to click on it to view detail. Although clicking on post title will also open post detail but I want to give some text on home page.
3. I am sure you must have seen some tags/words on left or right side on a web page in different sizes as shown in the screenshot below. I want to know what is this called and how do I implement it in WordPress

Ok I can see that I can manually edit more tag by going into HTML mode but what options are available? I mean what and how can I write in that HTML code?
