Read More option not showing up on home page

  Hey i changed my home page to a static page and now when i insert the read more option its not showing up in the preview or when i publish the page its just showing as a big gap … in my post its working fine in my posts?? am i doing something wrong

  Hi there,

  The More Tag is primarily used to shorten the preview of blog posts in areas of the site that list your posts. This is a good example of that on your site.

  On pages, there are some instances where it can be used, but it won’t work to shorten the main content of a static page:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/more-tag/#using-the-more-tag-in-pages

  As you’ll see in the guide there, if you want to shorten the text on a static page, it is recommended to use the Pagination feature instead.
