READ MORE tag

  The “insert READ MORE tag” is malfunctioning. The tool places the break in another location than the one I choose. This is a repeated malfunction over several hours, last night and this morning on two separate computers of two separate users.

  Hi Doug!

  Could you tell me where you intended the Read More tag to be placed in your latest Post? And where it was placed instead?

  Also, could you give me a link to a Post where your More tag behaved as you wished?

  The article our editor and I struggled with was: “Washington State Advance Team Diplomatic Mission to Nevada & Timeline” (http://thereaganwing.wordpress.com/2014/04/12/washington-state-advance-team-diplomatic-mission-to-nevada-timeline/)
  We wanted the Read More tag to appear where it now is, but we both repeatedly had it placed well below that, below the second photograph. (I work on a PC, the editor on a Mac, but both in Firefox.) We don’t recall the exact location, but it went to the same place each time we tried it. We finally allowed it to be placed there and then “cut” the text we chose from above it and “pasted” it below. That worked. Since that struggle, we have used the same “tool” for several articles and it has operated properly.

  Hi Doug,

  Recently we were having some issues with the More tag not functioning properly, but those issues should all be resolved. It’s possible that your difficulty with using it was related, and now it’s working properly again.
