read more tag
-
Hi, is it possible to define that after clicking the “read more” it will take me to the beginning of the post, instead of taking me to the text that come after the more-tag place ?
Thanks for your help ,

Hi there. No, I’m afraid that’s how the tag works. Essentially it creates a page-jump link to the next line after the tag.
You might be able to change that behaviour with CSS (for which you’ll need the Premium or Business upgrade), but I don’t know. The people in the CSS forum would be best able to answer you on that: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform

CSS can’t be used to add page jumps.
There are other page jump options here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/

Thanks for confirming that.Do you know of any way to force the Read More tag to go to the start of the post rather than the next line? I want to recall I once read a staff answer that it’s not possible, but I’m not sure.

I am fairly sure it is not possible. Because read more tag essentially adds a page anchor. There is no way to configure what WordPress adds.
Happy to be proved wrong though :-)

(i’m using the css upgrade but as i understand from what you wrote it will not help).
