Read More tag not working

Hi -I have added the Read More tag but it is not displaying in the posts when I publish – how to fix this

On the static front page with the Front Page Template assigned, the Mood theme automatically truncates posts in the recent posts section at about 55 words, with a Read more link to the full post included following each excerpt. If the post is shorter than the ~55 words, then no automatic truncation will occur in that section, and no Read more link will be added.
Your Planning your fall trip to Upper Mid West – Traverse City, Michigan post has evidently been automatically truncated with a Read more link at 55 words. Because the Mood theme is a paid theme I haven’t tested how it will handle More tags. If you inserted a More tag into this post, did you insert it before or after the 55th word? It may make a difference.
The other post on your front page, Are you a history buff? Here’s something for you…, doesn’t have a Read more link. If you inserted a More tag in this post, yet it isn’t displaying a Read more link, the explanation might be that there is a specific excerpt set on the post — see the Excerpts support page. If so, then the set excerpt will override the automatic truncation, and no Read more link will be produced.
