When reading a wordpress site, is there a way to go directly to the oldest post? TY

As in my other question which you answered, I’m asking as a *reader*, not as the blog writer. Is there a way to jump to the oldest post, without say clicking on “older post” a hundred times?

Hi there,
If you know when the oldest post was published, you could add a date query in the URL, e.g. example.wordpress.com/2017/06
However, for someone visiting your site the easiest way to allow them to do this is with the Archives widget – the widget lists all the months in which content was published on the site, so someone could use that to navigate to the first month in which content was published, and then scroll to the oldest post from there.

Appreciate the response. So as a blog *reader* (rather than creator), I would strongly recommend wordpress add a function like this. Easiest I would think would be a standard “archive” view available for each site (like tumblr has), that allows rapid paging back to any given date or earliest date. If readers find wordpress blogs clumsy, they’ll be less likely to read them as opposed to competitors….
