Read-only access to pages or documents?

We want to create a couple of private pages on a public site, where a set of users have password-based access to those pages. Then based on their login, they would have access to certain documents or posts. The users would need to be read-only, not editors nor contributors.

Is this a feature of WordPress or is there a plug-in that provides something like this?

And if so, does anyone know of the max for users? We may be talking thousands.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The site linked to your name is empty – we need the URL beginning with http of the blog in question to provide accurate help.

There are two ways you could do this.
    1. In the publish section of the editor, there is a section that says status, published. You can set this as password protected or private. I’m not sure how you would add users for just viewing a particular page though.
    2. You could also password-protect the page in question and then give the users the password. As for your limits question someone else will have to answer that. Also, Auxclass, I did that without looking at the site, so why did you want the URL before you would help?

bob, there are innumerable ways he could do it, depending on the nature of his site. That’s why we always ask for the URL; so we can see what kind of a site it is. You possibly just gave completely incorrect information.

    ALWAYS wait for the URL.
