Read-only users on Private blogs without WordPress membership?

  Is it possible to allow users read-only access to a private blog without them needing to sign up with wordpress? I am thinking of grandparently types who don’t want to go through the scary process of create an account. If this is not possible, it would be a great enhancement!

  Why don’t you create accounts for them and mail them their username and password? I don’t think there is any rule against that?
