read time

  I noticed this am (7/17) the addition of the read time for my post. I think this is discouraging to those who may not be familiar w/ a blog. I do tend to write longer posts – it’s the nature of my “focus” but even I when looking at these times in post w/in my reader think – nah… too long.
  Was this a request? Or a WP thought to improve the UI? I’d love to remove it from my posts. Could you tell me how or do I need to have a self hosted site to do so.

  I’m already not as thrilled w/ the new look of reader – I’m having to click more times now to read those posts w/in my feed just to get back than I was previously. (If that’s not true – it certainly feels like it.)
