reader can’t access password protected with password!

  Hi
  One of my readers cannot access my password protected posts. She definitely has the correct password, has even copied/pasted from my email with the password. No one else seems to be having a problem Any ideas?

  Maybe she’s using Safari? That sometimes has issues with forms and such at WordPress.com. If she could try using Firefox or another browser, that might solve the problem.

  Hi – I’m having a similar problem, but no one can access the page once I password protect it. I’ve checked it with IE, Firefox & Safari – it doesn’t work on any of them. I’ve re-typed the password on my blog page, changed it, taken out numbers…I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
  Blog is eftnewengland.com, pages are “members only” & “members only v2”.
  I made a second page (v2) & protected it thinking the problem might have been with the first page.
  Thanks for any light you can shed on this!

  What happens when you sign out, clear your cache and cookies, and try to look at those pages?

  yes, maybe she is using a browser that doesn’t support too well with WordPress. Maybe she should try using a different browser.

  Howdy,
  If I sign out & clear everything, I can’t get in either (until I re-sign into wordpress). I’ve tried explorer, safari & firefox. There are 35 other people trying to access the page, so i’m not sure what they’re using, but I’m sure it’s varied.
  Are there parameters on the password (though I’ve tried changing that too)?

  None as far as I know. You may need a staff fix, so contact them before 4pm today via the Support button on your dashboard.

  Please check your General Settings, if the WordPress address (URL) is not specifying a host name in a different domain than your Blog address (URL).
  If so, that is causing your problem (the cookie will be stored under a different host name than your blog’s host name). I have been having this problem, as described <a href="http://srejbi.info/archives/13" target="_blank">here</a> (http://srejbi.info/archives/13).
