Reader Could NOT Subscribe

Reader got a bunch of code when he clicked to subscribe. He is not a blogger, but entered my site through the URL I gave him over email. He’s not by his computer right now to try again. I read what little there is on the topic and did make sure the “block bla blah” box was unchecked in my settings. Would someone kindly follow me for a test – and when i can confirm it came through, please unfollow me (for I understand it’s such a funny request I’m making!). Someone else followed me within the last 10 minutes but she too came in by URL off her phone and I’ll have to wait ’til tmrw to know if it even worked. I’ve gotten likes since the guy tried following me this morning – I imagine I might have missed other attempted follows the last few hours I was gone. Thanks sO much.

I have subscribed using the follow blog link at the bottom of the blog on the right hand corner under 2 different email accounts and have not received a notification at either address. I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Timethief, it’s up to you if you’d like to try once more. I tried moving the widget up to the top. This is the least of (all) my concerns but the Follow By Email heading is shifted to the right. (It looked really badly off with the original Follow Via Email which took up two lines, so I shortened it with BY.) It’s not aligned with the other Widget titles and is an eye sore. If the formatting happens to be something Staff can adjust while they’re at it, they’d be super. I’ll be back in a few hours. Many thanks.

I used the follow blog link in the footer on the right hand corner of the blog as it is for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts and as I was not logged into WordPress.com.

Timethief, I put the RSS Link back – upper right corner – though I have yet to come across a site with both this and the email option for readers. I’ll appreciate one final try on your part.

I don’t think the “Click to follow me and keep up with posts” is necessary. Those who know what an RSS Feed is look for the icon. It’s all they need.

I don’t think this phrase is required either “Follow Blog by Email”. The text below makes it redundant:
Click to follow this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email.
I would type “Subscribe” in the widget title box and that’s all.

Sorry – tech doof here. Cached – stored – which translates to…..? Shouldn’t it come through on my end in real time?

Blog notifications for the admin (like comment moderation, Likes, new subscriptions, etc) are sent to the email address at Settings -> General in the Dashboard.Personal notifications (like comments on your post, subscription emails, and upgrade renewals) are sent to the email address at Users -> Personal Settings in the Dashboard.
Lastly, will you please check in your email client spam/junk mail filter?

I did all that. I’ll look again when I can. But I chked, before writing you. I got follows even this morning – until I moved the Follow via Email widget over to the right and left home. That’s when the guy tried following me and got all this code. Sorry to ask again — but have yOu gotten notice of follows in real time? I’m not understanding why it’s cached – are you saying that sometimes happen to everyone?

I wouldn’t know if I got follows in real time or not. I check my email accounts once daily and that’s that.
