Reader is slow

I’ve noticed that wordpress reader is super slow to update. I add a new blog post to my site and it doesn’t appear for hours on the reader. yet on feedly it appears immediately.
Is there any way to speed up reader?

I know but the topic is about wordpress.com reader which I’m using to subscribe to both wordpress.com sites as well as self hosted wordpress sites, like my own.
