Reader Issues Again

Well, it’s happening more often. My posts are not showing up in the Reader. It used to happen every 5 or 6 posts. Now it’s happening every other post. No one is addressing this every time I have another issue. I don’t understand why I can’t get any help on this. Is anyone even reading this?
The last time I posted, someone suggested that maybe my settings are not correct (as public), but I DO have them correct. Sometimes my posts show up in the Reader, sometimes they don’t. If my settings weren’t correct, they’d never show up.

Hi @loridr, sorry this is happening to you. It looks like you have quite a few threads open on this. It would help staff as well as community volunteers if all of the clues were in one place.
From now on, can you update us in this thread only? I’m going to go see if I can find information from the other threads as well.

Looks like you tried some troubleshooting steps here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/missing-posts-in-readerIn some of the older ones, you replied to yourself a few times. Many volunteers look for threads that don’t have any replies, so that’s probably why these other ones were missed. Sorry about that, too.
I think we’ll just do some troubleshooting here. There are a few ways to see sites in the reader. Can you confirm the link to the page you’re using to view your site?
If I go to https://wordpress.com/read/blogs/7882649 I can see your posts.
If I follow the site and go to the main reader at https://wordpress.com/ I can also see your posts.
Can you tell me where you are looking?

Oh Velda, my hero. Whew! Thank you so much for responding. The original time this happened, I wrote about it and never received an answer. That was so long ago that I can’t remember when. I didn’t have another issue for a while, so I completely lost where my first forum post went.
Then, last week it happened again. I had no idea how to find that original forum post. They go off that first page of the forum and get lost pages away from the beginning. So, I started another today. (I can’t remember if I wrote a 4th post about it somewhere)
Bear with me, as I’m so happy to have you respond. I’m rambling.
I noticed that the ones that don’t show up on the day I post, end up showing in the Reader a few days to a week later.
On September 22nd I launched a Kindle Scout campaign for my novel, and my post about it didn’t go in the Reader. I can’t wait a week for it to show up, because I need votes. I was freaking out. I need people to find it there so I can have them go vote for me. I’ve been posting about the campaign ever since, and today it didn’t go in the Reader again.
What I ended up doing last week was posting my same article twice. The second time it showed up in the Reader. The first time it didn’t.
Today what I did was completely trash the original that didn’t go in the Reader and then started a brand new post. It showed up when I posted it the second time.
So, in answer to your question … I went to that Reader link you provided. Yes, my posts that go missing do not show up there. They also did not show up in the main Reader where I go on WordPress for all the other posts I follow.
I noticed that the one I posted last week is now showing in the Reader, because I have two the same. Like I said, they don’t show up until days later.
I apologize for going on. I am just so happy to have a response. Thank you for any help you can give me. I’m thinking you might tell me we might have to wait until it happens again. So, I will bookmark this page, but if you can do anything before it happens, that would be great.

Hi @loridr, no worries, I’m glad we could help! Usually the awesome community will help each other out or flag us with the “modlook” tag if anyone needs extra help. I’m glad they saw this one and got our attention :)
So you had a few posts fail to show up, and you’ve fixed it with workarounds, right?
Can you just update me here next time you post and it doesn’t show up? But leave it unfixed so we can take a look at what’s going on.

Hi Velda, I don’t know if you’ll be alerted to this thread, but I’ve had another issue with my post not showing up in the Reader.
If it helps, I did notice something. My last post went into the Reader, and I had clicked Publish Immediately on that one.
This post today I had scheduled to post this morning, and this one is NOT showing up in the Reader. Perhaps it has something to do with scheduled posts?
Also, they do show up eventually, from hours to days later. But by that time, they go in order by time & date and they aren’t found as readily anymore.
Since I have this Kindle Scout campaign going until the 22nd, I really need these to show up immediately.
I thank you for anything you can do, as this has been an ongoing problem.

Velda, of course, now that I’ve written you personally, it showed up in the Reader. This is like going to a mechanic and the car isn’t making the same rattling sound when you bring it to them. Sigh.

Ah, I know that feeling. Hang in there though. Sorry I missed your response yesterday. But do let me know here when you see it again. We’ll get to the bottom of this.
Are you publishing out to other social media sites by the way, like Facebook or Twitter? And do those show up on time? I’m wondering if they have the same offset.

I usually put the link in facebook myself. It does automatically go to twitter and I don’t see it show up there, either (until later). I subscribe to it by email, and it doesn’t come there right away either. Although, it comes to my email sooner than it gets to the Reader. Thanks, Velda.

Okay thanks. Do you put the link into facebook as soon as it’s published?
It almost sounds like this is less an issue of the reader and more about the posts not publishing on time.. and if that is the case I can try some things to troubleshoot that as soon as we can catch it happening. That’s a lot easier to do, too, if we know when they’re supposed to post. What do you think?

Hi Velda. Yes, I put the blog link on my facebook page as soon as it publishes, or not more than 20 minutes later.
I think it might only happen when a post is scheduled, because it seems to do okay when I click to publish it immediately. That may account for why it happens intermittently, because I don’t always schedule my posts.

Quick Note to Velda: My post went into the Reader immediately today, but I didn’t receive it in my email box until 7 hours later.
My clicks have been lower than usual, so I don’t know if it’s because it popped in email boxes just now. I’ll see if I get more clicks.
I clicked publish this post immediately and didn’t have it scheduled.

Hi. Looking for Velda. I published a blog post this morning and clicked publish immediately. As of this message, it has not shown up in the Reader.
It did pop up in my email right away and also published to twitter. I posted it on fb myself. But, again, not in the Reader.

I’m going to keep checking back to see if and when my post for today, 10/12/16, pops into the Reader. It’s approx 90 minutes now and no sign of it.

Great, thanks Velda. I just got back in from appointments and saw it’s still not in the Reader. I’d like to post this again tomorrow, since few people have seen it, and I’m still running my Scout campaign (only 9 days left). Let me know if posting tomorrow (as a new post) will cause a problem.

Hi Velda. I already posted a blog today, but I did it as a new post with a tweaked title name. I hope it doesn’t interfere. This one actually went into the Reader. It’s just such an inopportune time, because I only have 8 days left for my Scout campaign, and it’s crucial that I get the word out as much as possible. I appreciate yours and the Reader team’s help.
