Reader jumping around during scrolling

Good Morning
I’ve been having problems with the Reader for over a week. Whilst scrolling, the Reader jumps around – it jumps up a few posts when I am scrolling down, and jumps down when I scroll upwards.My browser is Firefox and I always clear cookies and cache before using WordPress.

That sounds super frustrating. Thanks for writing to us about the behavior. Since you’ve already cleared the cache + cookies I will suggest disabling all of your browser extensions to see if it makes any difference.
Please go to https://supportdetails.com/ and report back with which version of Firefox is in use. If needed please update it.

Thank you for that confirmation. If you use Reader in a different browser, like Chrome, does the issue persist?

I don’t have another browser installed on my old slow laptop and I really don’t want to download Chrome just to test it (I think it’s pretty bloated).
I asked visitors to my blog whether anyone else was having this problem – I’ve had 2 replies so far – one saying no and one saying yes. I think the person having the problem has the Chrome browser – I’ve asked them but they haven’t got back to me yet.
For a bit more info, I first had this problem for just a day several weeks ago and then no problem. The issue came back again around a week ago and has persisted.

Try deleting the Firefox browser and reinstalling a clean version. Let me know if that makes any difference. I’m not finding any other reports of this behavior internally.
Ask the person who is also having the issue to post here as well so we can gather more data. Thanks!

Hi. I’m using a fully updated Microsoft Internet Explorer browser and, as far as I know, I have no browser extensions enabled. How would I check to see if this is the case??? I have been experiencing this problem with the Reader for several months.
I also have the Google Chrome browser, which I rarely use, and this Reader problem does NOT occur when using Chrome.

I’ve also been having the same problem with the reader. I first noticed it on my mobile on WP app/android [not many applications used so it’s pretty fast]. Especially when I press ‘like’ it ‘rolls’ back 5-8 posts or after slowing down my scrolling, again it goes back up a few posts. This has also happened with my laptop [mac] on Firefox [I clean up cache + cookies fairly often].

Hi,
I just checked Safari and it didn’t happen and I just re-tried it at Safari and it didn’t happen either. This doesn’t happen always. Same with my android app. For instance, I got this about a couple hours ago at Safari on my laptop and now it’s ok. -
Ok, does it happen in Firefox if you temporarily disable all of your add-ons? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-remove-add-ons

Good morning!
I’ve just logged into wordpress and the Reader has stopped jumping around. I’ve scrolled up and down several times and it’s behaving normally.Have you done a small (or large) tweak?! If so, thank you.

We had a scrolling issue with the Reader and our developers have fixed it a few hours ago.
If this happens again please let us know.
