Reader not getting emails of my new blog posts

A reader sent me a message via twitter saying that she signed up to receive my blog posts by email but never gets them. She wants to know what email to add to her address book to be sure she gets them. I do not know what to tell her. Also, how can I be sure that others who signed up to receive emails of my new posts are getting them?

1. Your email subscribers control their updates and when they receive them.
If this person is a wordpress.COM blogger ask here to make sure her correct email address is listed here: https://wordpress.com/settings/account/
And also make sure emails are not blocked at the bottom of this page https://wordpress.com/me/notifications
She can also check her spam filter on her email account and under the “social” tab in here Gmail account if she uses it. https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/gmail-issues/
If those factors are not in play, please provide usernames for those WordPress.com bloggers who did not receive the emails as well as email addresses for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts. The software will redact them ie. HIDE the email addresses so only Staff can see them.

I do not have her email because she communicates with me via Twitter. When I asked her for it, she said, “No worries. I always check your blog anyway.” But my question is, is there an email address that readers have to add to their address book to be sure they receive emails after they have signed up to receive notice of new posts?

Hi there,
The best thing for your follower to do at this stage is check her junk/spam folder to make sure the emails aren’t ending up there, and whitelist emails coming from WordPress.com if she can. If she continues to have trouble, she can also contact us directly for more help with her subscriptions — usually when this happens it is related to the follower’s settings on WordPress.com or an issue with their email provider.

A friend/potential follower is having the same problem. She clicks on the contact button and just gets a message asking her to check that she is using the correct activation email address. She is. We have checked her spam/junk folder. What next steps please?

She can email help@wordpress.com , but do have her try subscribing again first since we did not see recent attempts.

Thank you. I know she has tried at least a dozen times, always with the same result. She gets the same when she tries to subscribe to her sister’s WordPress blog as well. I’ll suggest she write to you about both on the address you have given. Thanks again.

My friend has written to your help address and received two replies from Stuart Duff who is telling her that she must seek my authority to become an administrator. I don’t want this, she doesn’t want this. All she and I want is that she can receive e-mails from you when I post. OK you’re not receiving her e-mail requests, but please can’t you just add her to my e-mail notification list? Her e-mail address is above on August 20th, 5.47pm. She also wants to follow her sister’s blog, ‘London Senior’ by Susanpoozan, and is having the same problem there.

Ah okay. I just looked up her ticket; I can see how he thought she needed to be added to the site rather than just follow it. And I can see how you two would be frustrated too. I’ll go ahead and respond to her. Cheers!
