Reader not picking up posts I follow, including my own!

My post did not show up in Reader, and some I follow also have not showed up consistently. I received 5 “likes” yesterday through email but my stats said there were zero. What’s going on?

Yes, the “likes” count showed up under the next day in the statistics. They were not counted yet when I entered the problem report.
Regarding the other blogs that did not show up in my reader, I follow “Jittery Goat” and the post I did not see yesterday was there when I looked this morning. Perhaps I was mistaken and just missed it.

I’m investigating this and it appears the post linked below is the only one not showing up in the reader
Is that what you experienced too?
I also noticed that you posted three articles on January 3rd and this was the last one.
Can you tell me anything else about this post that makes it different from your other ones? Did you start a draft of the post earlier and then return to it later? Did you write this post in a different editor than you usually use?
Any information you can give me on how this post might be different than your others will help us solve the mystery.
P.S. I also noticed that the post does show up in the reader, it just doesn’t seem to be appearing in the main “stream” If you click on the name of your site from one of your posts that is showing up in the reader, you’ll see the post does appear on the page dedicated to your site.

The first one that did not show up was posted Dec. 31 and titled “The New Year, 2015”. I went back and looked today and now it does show up in the main stream reader but last week it did not. The “Pond ice and Winter Algae” was the newer one that did not show up.
I have tried sometimes the old editor and sometimes the new one but I don’t recall which, I’m sorry. I did start the pond post once and hit “save” to go do something else, and when I came back I couldn’t find it in drafts, so I had to start over. That was frustrating, but the post was not long so not a huge deal. I wish I had better debugging clues for you. Should I experiment? -

This type of intermittent issue is the hardest to track down, so it might take us a bit of extra time. That having been said, I’m happy to keep working on it with you until we find something or the problem resolves itself.
I don’t think we have enough info to figure out what’s going on right yet so let’s keep gathering data. Here are the thinks I recommend we look out for:
1) Does the “Pond ice and Winter Algae” post ever show up on the main page of the reader? If so, can we identify any action that lead to the change.
2) As you write new posts, do they appear? If some posts appear and some don’t, could you make note of how your process was different?
I know this involves some extra work for you, but hopefully we’ll uncover the missing piece to the puzzle.
