Reader settings & layout issues

  Hi,

  I am trying to change the reader settings on my front page from displaying 10 posts to less and also to have the summary of the post shown rather than the full post. I do this in the reader settings and hit SAVE but nothing changes whatsoever. It still shows at least 10 posts with full text so it takes ages to scroll down and therefore many of my older post remain unnoticed by new visitors.

  Also, I wanted to try to grid layout to see how the frontpage would look with it, but this doesnt work either. I changed from slider to grid in CUSTOMISE – FEATURED CONTENT but nothing happens. I did try changing the front page to full width page (from default layout) as I thought this may be needed to display the grid layout but it didn’t work wither.
