readers adding comments

  visitors to my blog have complained that they “don’t understand how to leave a comment”. I have put directions on my side bar (click on the 0 comments . . . 1 comments tab at the bottom of the blog entry) but some don’t seem to get it. Instead of adding a comment to an existing article, many want to initiate a new discussion or pose a question to me. Is there a way of making this more obvious?

  This method of adding comments is pretty standard across all blogging software. It becomes extremely evident how to add a comment once you go to the individual post. If you have already tried describing in the sidebar what to do, the only other thing you can do is maybe create a new “page” with physical pictures on how to do it called “how to add comments” or something. Once they learn it, it will become habit, but it could be a rough ride in the meantime.
