Readers/followers unable to make a comment without signing in. Why?
-
Several of my followers have been unable to comment on my weekly blog and have mentioned being asked to sign in. Why? I began this blog in July 2014 and have had few issues and NONE from faithful followers and readers. Please FIX the BIG so my followers may once again comment. Thank you.

Hi there!
I checked your latest post and confirmed that there’s no requirement for readers to log in to post a comment. However, if a reader uses an email address when commenting that’s already in use with a WordPress.com account, they will need to log in. That isn’t a recent change and has always been the case. This is for security reasons and can’t be changed.
Can you ask your followers if they have a WordPress.com account with the email addresses they are using when leaving a comment? If the answer is yes, then it’s expected that they will need to log in. They can use a different email address, one that isn’t in use on a WordPress.com account if they don’t want to log in to post a comment.
Hope that helps! Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.
