readers to be able to activate/deactivate Snapshots, open in new window
-
I would like to add the option for the readers of my blog to change the way they open the links (in the same window or in a new window).
Also, I disabled the “SnapShots” for the images and links in my blog, I find that feature annoying. But maybe some of my readers would like that feature. Is it possible to let them choose that? -
They already have that if they’re using Firefox or IE. And if you enable snapshots, all your readers can choose to disable them on an individual basis; they just have to go to the settings on a Snapshot itself to do that. They’ll have to re-set it when they delete cookies though.

Sadly few know that they can disable snapshots from within the snapshots window.
If they have adblockplus, they can just put spa.snap.com/* into their filters and it will block them everywhere. That’s what I did.
By the way, for Safari 3 users out there, there is now a adblockplus plugin for Safari 3. Google it if you would like it.

So how can a reader enable snapshots again? only by deleting cookies? Isn’t it possible for me to add a link on my blog for enabling/disabling snapshots?
I just deleted the cookies from IE, and when I open my blog, the snapshots are still deactivated. What should I do now to enable them back?

To enable/disable snapshots from a link within your blog, it would require something like javascript since it would require sending commands to the viewer’s browser. We cannot use javascript here at wordpress.COM due to security concerns, and besides, any sort of attempt to control someone’s browser from the web is going to trigger security measures on the person’s computer.

I understand it’s not possible to let readers activate/deactivate snapshots from a link in my blog.
But in this case, how can I enable them back? I tried by deleting all cookies in IE and Chrome, but still can’t get them back. I guess I’m missing something but I don’t know what. -
