Reading blog on Ipad

  I am using a mobile friendly WP theme. I have also ticked the appropriate boxes in mobile settings. Till now no problems that I was aware of. Reading on PC, laptops with (IEX) and on mobile phones no problem. We have just acquired an Ipad. Surprised on reading my Blog on the pad that the side column, with the widgets, now drops either behind or over the main content column! What have I done wrong? Any help please
