  I cannot get rid of the reading list that has suddenly shown up. Clicking on the eyeglass with shift has no effect. I don’t want it.

  I’m sorry but I don’t know what you mean. I tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. Please post screenshot, upload it to your Media Library, and return to this thread to provide the file name so Staff can examine it.

  I think you’re referring to the Reading List in Safari. We can really only help with WordPress.com-related problems here.

  Clicking the eyeglass button in Safari seems to both open and close it for me. If that isn’t working for you, I recommend visiting http://www.apple.com/support/safari/
