Reading settings?

  I just created a new blog today. I posted two posts & they are showing up with the oldest post first. To change this am I not suppose to go to Settings, then Reading, & there is a section that says Front Page display & you choose either “Your Latest Posts” or “A static page”, right?

  Well this new blog doesn’t have that option. At first I thought it was the theme I was using. But I changed the theme to the same one as my other blog & I still don’t get that option.

  I know when I started my blog and named the page I also added a post to it and it kept that as the first post after adding subsequent posts, try going to edit on the post and copy it ,delete whats in there and just add a new post with that info hope this works for you.

  Thanks, that worked! Still interested in knowing what happened to that one section that’s missing under the reading setting, though.

  Thanks, I’ve been using wordpress for over a year now, I know the difference between posts & pages. That’s not my question. I want to know why on the new blog I just created today, I don’t have that option to select the latest posts or the static page. And wanted to know if this is why my posts are showing oldest to the newest, instead of the newest first.

  I’m thinking you need to contact support. There is no reason for posts showing up oldest to newest. Since we don’t have a link to the blog in question, we can’t even verify if it is a wordpress.COM blog.

  @amygg I looked at my reading settings and I do have the options that you are missing I don’t know why yours changed :( but I do know that latest post is ticked off on mine and I do get them the right way just when I initially started the other day I posted in the page I had made.

  By any chance are you logging in on a username that does not have admin privileges? Perhaps an editor, author or contributor?

  nod to TSP. That was my thought, too, but I figured since she said she had created the blog today, that couldn’t be it. But you might be right.

  Thesacredpath, I only have one user name & I just went & looked & I’m listed as admin.

  Vivian, it’s a private blog, that’s why I didn’t put a link up, but yes, it is a .COM blog.

  I’ve looked at all 3 of my blogs, to compare & see if I’ve accidentally changed something, but the only difference is what I posted. Strange.

  Thanks for all the help, I’ll contact support & see if they can find something I’m missing.
