Reading Settings – Number of posts per page

Good morning,
I just changed my Reading settings to show just 3 posts per page. However, it is showing 7 posts/page. Does it take several minutes for the change to take effect? Or did I do something wrong?

That means you have not scrolled down on this page > Dashboard > Settings > Reading and disabled infinite scroll.

Thank you for reading my question and offering help. It isn’t showing all the posts I’ve written on the first page, just seven or eight of them.
When I go down to the “infinity and beyond” in the Settings it says:
“We’ve changed this option to a click-to-scroll version for you since you have footer widgets in Appearance → Widgets, or your theme uses click-to-scroll as the default behavior.”
So it looks like the infinite scroll is already disabled? But still showing more than 3 posts.
