"Reading" settings say summary, but entire post showing

I am using Sobe theme and I think I have set the Reading setting correctly but not getting the desired result. I am not using the premium. Still trying out the free version. Any ideas?

Hey there,
The Summary setting is not for the front page of your site. It changes the way your posts will be seen on your Feed, in your post notifications, and on your category/archives pages.
Are you hoping to shorten the entries on the main blog page? If so, you’ll want to use the More tag to create excerpts:

That more tag worked great thanks for that.
I know I have seen small images at the bottom of the post giving me the option of viewing it as it would appear on a tablet or smartphone. But they don’t seem to show up anymore.
Is there a “view post” option I don’t see in the admin?

I’m wondering if perhaps you mean the different views you can see (desktop/tablet/mobile phone) in your Customizer?

You’ll see those 3 different icons at the bottom of your Preview window.
