Ready to move subscribers and followers to a self-hosted site
-
Hi all,
As advised, just dropping a line to say that I’m ready to have my blog email subscribers, reader followers and stats migrated to my new site. Jetpack is installed.
Old site: pirancafe.wordpress.com
New site: pirancafe.comMany thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Happy to help you out here!
It looks like you have Jetpack connected to this address:
69.195.124.152/~pirancaf/Assuming you have a different address for your permanent site, please disconnect and then reconnect Jetpack so that it’s pointing to the correct address, and I can help you out from there.

Also, for what it’s worth, deactivating and activating erased my stats from the past 24-36 hours. Not a big deal, but is there any way to retrieve that?
-
I am not seeing any Jetpack site currently connected to piran1. It needs to be connected to the same user account that owns the WordPress.com site in order to transfer the followers over, so if you’ve connected it to bobramsak, could you disconnect and reconnect to piran1? Once everything has been moved over, you can change the Jetpack owner.
My apologies for losing a day’s worth of stats. The issue is that when you disconnect and reconnect to sites with different addresses, our system considers these to be separate blogs. Stats on the previous address won’t be reflected on the new address.

OK, deactivated and activated as piran1 and authorized to link that piran1’s wordpress.com acct.

Thanks for taking care of the Jetpack connection issues.
I have transferred your WordPress.com subscribers and email followers as requested.
Please note that any WordPress.com followers who opted to receive email updates will need to re-subscribe again on your new site through the Jetpack signup box, otherwise they’ll only see new posts in their Reader. Non-WordPress.com email subscribers will continue to get email updates.
I’ve also merged your site stats for you.

You’re welcome! I’m glad I was able to sort this out for you and transfer everything.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Another question: Can I change Jetpack owner, as you mentioned above, without deactivating and activating again?
-
You will need to disconnect your piran1 account and then add your new account again. Since the followers and stats are attached to the blog, not the Jetpack user, everything should remain the same.

When you change WordPress.com accounts on a Jetpack-enabled site, you will disconnect one user account from WordPress.com and then connect to WordPress.com with another.

Hi again,
I don’t think this is working properly. I checked my reader (connected to this acct, piran1) and I didn’t see my posts appearing. Other problems I noticed:
I ‘m still getting notifications of new subscribers but they’re not being added to the list that’s visible at the bottom of the Jetpack statistics section. Additionally, those notifications are still going to my old email address, the one attached to this account, not my new one.
Any insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry about that. I’ve migrated your new followers over to your self-hosted site. This shouldn’t continue to happen, but I’ve seen it a couple times.
If you run into this issue again in the future, please let me know.

Thanks, but according to the notifications I rec’d and the list of subscribers, it appears as though only three made it through the migration. And it looks like the problem is still occurring. I rec’d another new sub notification this morning at the old address, one that’s not appearing on the subscriber list.

It looks like there’s something strange going on with your Jetpack connection. I’m reporting this issue to our developers now. Please bear with me, and I will let you know when we can get this resolved.

OK, thanks. I have since received a few more notifications of new subscribers, but again, they’re not being added to the total that appears at the bottom of the jetpack stats.
