Really confused: Blog url's and domain mapping

So, I created a new blog, Backshiftreader.wordpress.com but something screwed up, it didn’t look like it took, so I recreated accidentally when I was attempting to purchase the domain. For a brief ten minute hiccup there were two sites. backshiftreaderdotcom.wordpress.com, and backshiftreader.wordpress.com. I transferred the domain which was originally assigned to the former to the latter.

Once I made sure that was settled I deleted backshiftreaderdotcom.wordpress.com.

But now, for some odd ball reason Backshiftreader.com and backshiftreader.wordpress.com all point to backshiftreaderdotcom.wordpress.com which no longer exists.

Is this just a hiccup that will clear up once the domain mapping catches up? Or did I really stick the fork in the socket this time?

If I’m making any sense to anyone I think it will be a miracle.

    Thanks!
