Really in the dark with creating a web site

OK, I just transfered domain names to GoDaddy – had an OLD website that has to be redone totally – I think it was hosted by Hostway, but I bought a ‘hosting site’ at GoDaddy. Their web builder does not have much flexibility, so, the question is: Can I use /pay for some of what WORDPRESS has to BUILD a site but host it and let it live at GoDaddy?

Yes, you can self-host WordPress on your server to use it. It is a little different from using a site at WordPress.com though. To learn more about the difference see this:
