Reassign a Personal Plan to the correct site
-
Is it possible to switch plans between my WordPress sites, as I added Personal plan by mistake to the wrong site.
My intention was to add the domain mapping of my own domain to one of the sites and by mistake I add the personal plan and the domain to the wrong site. The personal plan is currently attached to “kaizenu.wordpress.com” but I deleted this yesterday. When I click on this link under the plan name, I get directed to “kaizenu.wordpress.com”, which I have already deleted.
The issue started after a transfer from DreamHost to Kaizenu, and from there things became corrupted.
I am unable to re-assign my purchased personal plan to the correct domain, and I am unable to sort out all the accounts ???
Please advise.

Hello there,
I can certainly help you transfer your WordPress.com plans to a different site in your account.
Upon checking your account, I am only seeing two sites:
- https://kaizenu.wordpress.com – this one has not bee deleted. Could you please share how you deleted the site? This currently has the domain name https://travelikalocal.com/ and Personal plan. By default, sites with paid subscriptions cannot be deleted. You can try deleting this again after we have transferred the plan.
- https://berlynski7.wordpress.com/ – this doesn’t have any plan, but it also seems empty.
If you are trying to transfer the plan to another site that is not on the list above, please share the site address with me, so we can check and see what we can do to move forward.

Hi, thank you so much for replying! However I navigated my through solving my issues :)
The basic issue was that when I executed the transfer back from DreamHost to WordPress the site became corrupted and I could not change the CNAME; hence I tried to delete, recreate and edit as best I could to get the site functioning once again. It was this corruption which started a chain of events!
I have all the text data but lost all the pictures/images! Is there any way of rescuing these?
Much appreciated
Stephen

Hi Stephen, I’ve shared an update with you via email directly with more information on this.
In summary, to import the media from one site to another site using the built-in Import feature, the original site needs to be online, as the media will transfer between site to site via an automated process that runs in the background.
See the following guide for more information: https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-a-sites-content/#20b44a69-3f94-40f6-85d6-31604fa3dd23
An XML import will move your images and other media. However, XML files contain no actual images or media files. They contain links to those files, which will be uploaded to the new site after you import the XML file by following the steps above.
For this reason, the site you exported from must remain publicly accessible until all images are present on your new site. You’ll know when all images have been copied over when the number of items in Media is the same on the new site as what you had on the original site.
To move everything for a site (content, media, themes, plugins, settings, etc) you can use our migration tool or let us do it for you via our free migration service.
