Rebalance theme: update social media icons?

Dear community,
is there a way to update the supported social media icons for the Rebalance theme?I found out that it does not support the icon for Medium. I would appreciate it very much if we can update that somehow.

Apparently the Rebalance theme doesn’t allow social media widgets in the header.
Or am I mistaken?
The icons that appear in the header are provided by the “social media menu” under customizing > menus > social menu. The icons available are only these:

You’re right that the widget can’t be added to the header.
However, the Medium icon is supported so you should not have any issues displaying it in your social media menu. I’m wondering if this happens because of the URL format.
Have you tried to play with the format of your profile link to see if that helps?

I did a further research and apparently it is because Rebalance is an older theme and it does not support Medium:https://wordpress.com/theme/rebalance
There is a list of icons under the chapter “Social Links” and it does not mention Medium.
Is there a way to pledge for an update of this theme?
