reblogging – images not showing

Hi
I have a query – when I reblog a post from another blog it shows the text but not the image from that post. Other people seem to get the images to show as well when they reblog. I’ve searched settings and help but can’t seem to work out how to make it show the images. Can anyone help?

When a post is reblogged, it shows up with a link back to the blog it came from, the first image in the post, an excerpt of the post’s introduction (if it contains text), and thumbnails of any other images that the post contains. It also shows any comments left by the person who reblogged the post:
Please be sure you are following the instructions carefully and also clear you browser cache and cookies just in case the image is there and you just can’t see it.
If this feature is not working properly for you then you will have to contact Staff and provide them with a link to the posts in question.

Thanks – I had also found that info. I’ll check again I’m doing it correctly. I’m able to reblog the post fine, it’s just the image I can’t see. I’ve asked others too and it’s not showing on their machines. I’ll try again though :)

I don’t see an image either using FF10 and IE8 so you will have to contact Staff and provide that same link immediately above to them.

A lot of people are very angry about the reblogging feature and have taken various steps to prevent it, including inserting a tiny one pixel by one pixel image at the start of the post. Then, when you reblog it, you get that image instead of the one you wanted.

That’s interesting. If I had a photoblog and all my posts contained single image of my own which is all rights reserved images and some text, thenI might be tempted to use every tactic I could to prevent reblogging. I would be wondering why would any visitor who gets to view my all rights reserved images in reblogged posts would bother to click into the original post.

Tumblr has exactly this business model, but somehow there are lots of happy Tumblr users. What we’re seeing is a philosophical difference, made critical by the fact that WP.com is adapting itself to be more attractive to the Tumblr market.

interesting. The thing is in this case I am a contributer on the other blog so I want to reblog the posts and images to my blog and I know that the owner of the other blog hasn’t done anything to make that difficult so it’s odd that it won’t copy over. Support have said the images are below the threshold for reblogging but that doesn’t seem to make sense as I’ve seen much longer posts reblogged and images are included so I’m not sure why it won’t work on my blog :)

What’s teh source blog URL? I’m wondering if there’s some weirdness with featured images causing this.
