rebuilding existing site

  I have an existing site, but I need to create a new page as the company we have hosting it at this time is going out of business. I’m not ready to pull down the old site yet and want to leave it running until I have the new template with all the products up built. Can I do that?

  Yes, you can build your caboots.com site at caboots.wordpress.com and then when you’re ready you can use the domain tools to redirect caboots.com to the site at caboots.wordpress.com (and consumers will still only see it as caboots.com).

  You’ll likely look to use the “WordPress.com Premium” option in the Store (https://caboots.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php) as it includes the “Domain Name & Mapping” that you’ll need. Note that it costs $99 a year, but also includes a couple other really nice items.

  so the $99 plan will work? I don’t need the $299 plan?

  The $299/year plan (“WordPress.com Business”) includes the $99/year plan (“WordPress.com Premium”) plus live chat support, unlimited premium themes, and unlimited storage. If you need any of those additional features, then you’ll want to consider the $299/year plan.
