Received password reset email I did not request
-
Yesterday I received the following email from WordPress:
Someone requested that the password be reset for the following account:
Username: [—-]
If this was a mistake, just ignore this email and nothing will happen.
To reset your password, visit the following address:
I had not requested this, so I’m concerned that someone is attempting to obtain my WordPress password. A idea what’s going on. Should I do anything about it?

Don’t click on the link – could be one of many things – someone fat fingered something – someone got confused – someone trying to get into your account – someone just messing with you etc.
You should make sure that you are using a secure (long and not easy to guess) password. Also don’t leave your computer un-attended or the password / account name on a sticky on your screen.
WordPress.COM (an other good sites) sends all requests for new password to the email of record as a double check. Don’t complete the double check part and you are safe.
If you are worried then look for new users on your blog Dashboard >> Users.
