receiving an email is being used message even without a wordpress.com account
-
I sent an invitation to a new user to be an editor of my blog. The new user does not have a wordpress.com account, so I put in his email address. When he accepted the invitation, he was asked to login. He does not have a username and password so hetried to register but it says that his email address is already registered. What should he do?
I already deleted the invitation, but when he tried to make a wordpress.com account it still said that his email is already being used.

There’s probably already an account registered under his e-mail address. No worries, he can reset the password of that account on this page.
Please follow the instructions carefully. You’ll receive two separate emails during the reset process, so make sure you read them both. If you don’t receive the emails right away, check your spam folders as well. The confirmation emails can get caught in them sometimes :)

I forgot to mention in my original question that he already tried clicking “lost password” and it said that his “email/username is invalid”. How can he reset a password if he doesn’t even have a valid email or user name? :(

What’s his e-mail address? (I’ll remove the e-mail address from this thread once I looked it up)
Sorry for the inconvenience.

can you see that? it says {email redacted} in my screen.
I was trying to add him to my other blog http://ebonph.wordpress.com/ -
He does have a WordPress.com account. I reset the password and he should have received a confirmation in his inbox by now.
Feel free to invite him again if he recovers his account.
