Receiving daily comments from obvious hackers. Comments turned of for a year.

  I am Ron Head from oraclesandhealers.wordpress.com. I am receiving several comments per day from obvious non-English speakers which bear no relation whatever to what is on my blog. I have had comments turned of for al most a year and yet they go back far enough to find posts that they can comment on. I feel it is some kind of hack. In fact many of these people have the word hack in their ID. Is anyone else experiencing this and how can it be stopped. Currently I just hit the spam button, but it continues.

  Hey Ron,

  Spammers often use automated programs to find places to post to. It’s unlikely that there was any hacking involved with your account, but old comment pages can definitely attract the spam bots. If you’re only having this issue with old pages, you could turn comments off for the posts that still have them using the bulk editing feature. You can find more information about that here:
