Receiving emails to wrong address.

On this website, there are 3 locations to ‘contact’ our client (email visible only to moderators and staff) (about page, footer and contact page form.) However, there are instances where people have tried to email our client and we received the emails to our admin email ( (email visible only to moderators and staff) ). Our client also said that someone tried to contact him and he didn’t receive an email from them, so some of the emails might not be going through. I tested all of the contact buttons and the form and it seems to be working (at least sometimes.) Could I get help to figure out why we are receiving his emails and why some might not be sending?

  • Hi there,

The site at https://alliancecustomhomesandproperties.wordpress.com/ is completely empty except for some demo content.

Are you perhaps speaking of your self-hosted site connected to this account via the Jetpack plugin, https://fairfieldgladenewconstruction.com/? If not, can you tell me the correct URL?

I don’t see a contact form on the About page for that site, but the About page contains two different mailto links, and one of the two emails there is also in the site footer as a mailto link. mailto links, when clicked, will open whatever email client the visitor has installed on their computer/phone, and open a new draft email with the email address pre-filled. So there’s no way one of those could be emailing any other email than the one specified in the link. Those emails also aren’t sent via the site, but directly from the sender’s email account to the receiver’s.

The Contact page on that site uses a form added via the Elementor plugin. If you’re getting contact form emails to your admin email address, it’s coming from that form. Please contact Elementor support directly for help with that form:

    https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/elementor/

We don’t make that plugin, so I’m afraid we have no way to troubleshoot any issues you might be having with that form. We do make the Jetpack plugin, though, which you’re already using on the site, and that plugin also comes with a contact form feature built in. If you’d like more information about Jetpack’s contact form feature, you can see here:
