Receiving Views From Facebook

  Hey there,

  This isn’t really a troubleshooting question, per se, but more of a curiosity. I noticed that I have been receiving views for my blog via Facebook. I, nor anyone I know, has posted a link to my blog on Facebook, so I’m curious if you know how this could happen. I also just started writing blog posts not too long ago and don’t have many views, so it’s surprising to see when I have multiple viewers coming from Facebook. Just curious!

  Hi there,

  The only logical explanation is that someone else who read one of your posts shared a link on Facebook. Your site is public so anyone with an internet connection can see it, and anyone could have copied a link to share on Facebook or used the Facebook sharing button showing at the bottom of all your posts.

  If someone then click on that shared link to visit your site, that gets shown in your stats. But we have no way to know who shared your post, or when or where on Facebook they shared it.
