  How do I get rid of ‘recent posts’. I saw it once, and dang if I can’t find it again. Just want archives and catagories + a few, but not!! recent articles.

  It will be a widget.

  To find them go to Presentation -> sidebar widgets.

  There’s something funny about dragging the unwanted sidebar item back to the “pool”, something like you need to drag it to the top left corner or something. Persevere and you should be ok.
