Can someone that knows what they are doing please take a look at my blog and tell me if there might be some way to adjust the comments shown to the left listed under Recent Comments on the homepage .

Thanks

Go to design > widgets and click on the edit button on the recent comments widget and under “avatar size” select “no avatar” then click change and then save changes at the bottom of the sidebar frame.

1. Can someone tell me how to keep my own responses to other’s comments (from my blog) from showing up in recent comments. My saying ‘thank you for posting’ is taking up all of the ‘recent comments’ space.
2. I want the widgets I have selected to be evenly distributed on the left and the right side bar. My options only allow me to place my widgets on the left OR the right. How can I choose the ones I want on the left and choose the ones I want on the right?

@steadycat, I’m using the same theme you are on my .COM blog, and I have widgets in each sidebar. Select the main sidebar (that’s the left) and put the widgets you wish into that sidebar and arrange them the way you want. Then from the pulldown, select the right sidebar and again, put the widgets you wish into that sidebar. Always make sure and click “save changes” after you modify a sidebar. If you are using Internet Explorer, I would suggest that you click “save changes” after you put each widget into the sidebar. IE has issues with design > widgets, but saving after each change should take care of it.
If you are adding text widgets, click save changes after adding the widget and before you attempt to edit the widget. After clicking save changes, you can then edit the text widget. Make sure to click save changes after editing it.

@the sacred path – Thanks but I still have a problem. When I add widgets on the right side bar, the automatic theme information (which I like) such as links, meta, and subscribe disappear. I want them to stay there because I don’t know how to add ‘subsribe’ options without making major catastrophic mistakes. Thanks for your response.

Thank you. And what about this problem, please?

There is no way to exclude your comments.
One solution that some bloggers use, is instead of making a new comment on a post in reply to another, they actually open the reader’s comment for edit and add their reply below the reader’s comment and then format their reply in bold or italics to differentiate it from the original. Actually they don’t do it to fix the problem you are referencing, but simply to keep comments and replies to comments together.
