Recent comments not showing trackbacks
-
Hello all.
I use internal links a lot on my posts and once a post is published, generally it comes up with lots of trackbacks.
Although I want them published on each post, I don´t want to show them on the “Recent commments” widget, because they are not “comments” and this takes lot of space from the “real” comments…
How can I do that?
Thank you,
Eduardo.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Just to confirm, I still want to use trackbacks, I just don´t want them to be shown on “Recent Comments” widget…
Thanks again.

Hey Eduardo
That’s my mistake. The pingback did appear in my recent comments widget. It just took a few minutes so I didn’t see it before replying.
Currently, it isn’t possible to remove pingbacks from your Recent Comments widget as pingback are effectively a type of comment. However, if you would like, you can still link to your blog posts but disable self-pings following the instructions here:
We’ve also recently added some additional controls to the widget settings. You can now control whether the widget displays comments from posts, page, attachment pages, or a combination of all three as shown here:
I hope that helps!

Thanks @jeremeylduvall for the tips and great to know that now it shows comments from media (always wanted that) and pages.
I don’t want to stop using pingbacks / trackbacks, I just didn’t want them to be shown on the widget, it does not add value there in my opinion, but on the related posts, for sure!
Thanks again anyway.
Eduardo.
