Recent comments on images not showing in sidebar widget

  Recent comments widget has all three checked: posts, pages, and media. Someone left a comment on one of my images and that comment does not show up in my sidebar. Post comments show up as expected, but image comments don’t show.

  Image comments are found on the image attachment pages.

  You can only have attachment pages with no comment box if you create the post under a no-comments-allowed default (in Settings > Discussion), then override that setting for the particular post after you publish it (post editor > Discussion module > tick “Allow comments on this post”, or Posts > Edit > Quick Edit > tick “Allow comments”). http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2009/04/26/images-the-three-link-options/

  That has absolutely nothing to do with my issued.

  Yes, comments on images show up on the image. Yes, comments on posts show up on the post.

  But…

  When you add a “Recent Comments” widget to a side bar… and you check posts, pages, and media on that widget…. ALL Comments on ALL Three of those items are supposed to show up in the sidebar widget.

  Comments on images used to show up in the sidebar widget like they should, but that is no longer the case.

Please provide as much information as you can about which comments are missing from display in the Recent Comments widget as I tagged this thread for Staff assistance.   Hi George,

  Thanks for letting us know about this issue! I see what you mean about comments on images not showing up in that widget. I reported that issue to our team, although I don’t have a timeline for when one of our developers will have a chance to investigate the issue. I’ll let you know if I get an update about that!
